Lost in space - getting home

I haven't played E:D for about a year, was on my way to Sag A* when my graphics card played up and ended up leaving the ship floating out there 15,000 ly from the nearest station.
Booted it up today, it updated a bunch of things and logged in. The Asp lives, its still out there!
So ... my son now wants to take over pilot duties and play using my account and ships. What is the best way to get back to a station without making 2 million jumps?
If I phoenix it into the nearest star will I lose everything?
Thx.

a year... was Colonia up back then?
it's a decent distance but not that far from the core.

Are there not some stations out there close by that you can drop into and dump your data. There have been some setup on the way to Colonia.

((Edited...))
Here's the name and position of the new outposts, maybe one is close to you

That won't really help him get home.
It might have a place to sell data but it locks his respawn to that outpost.
And you can't sell your ship on these outposts until you reach colonia and buy a cheap sidey to suicide.

Tell your son that making 2 million jumps is a necessary rite of passage?...
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/rites-of-passageIs he still at an impressional age, or have you fallen from grace?

Thanks for the ideas, as you can see from the screenshots I really am in the middle of effing nowhere. Colonia is 11.5kly away (it was called Jacques Station when I first started out).

I'm stuck in this dense starfield and the navigator cant plot more than about 100ly ahead - which makes covering long distances arduous to say the least (it took me three months to get out here).
Gagarin Gate – Gru Hypue KS-T d3-31 is about the closest, 6,800 ly. Still navigating that starfield aint easy without being able to plot more than 7-8 jumps at a time.
Shame to lose the trading data - I must have scanned 25,000 stars and planets.
Like the 'rite of passage' idea, but making a million mindless jumps will put him off playing even before he's discovered what's out there.

You should be able to plot to the bubble in one go only. that 100ly thing is just weird.
what happens if you select one of these systems you have bookmarked in the bubble and plot route to them?
