So I have a vanilla a-rated corvette, looking for help with a good engineered pve laser build. not a big fan of ammo even with synthesis and i'm aiming to lower time to kill. I'm currently working on unlocking the engineers I have the first 6 done so far. At first I wanted to make it a multipurpose conda like build and lightweight everything for 20ly jump range but it is not using the vet the way it should be so I've given up on the idea and will just transfer the ship to the stations I need it at. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a decent combat build. All lvl-5 efficient beams with 2 huge focused pulse lasers. No ammo to manage.

It works well for me.

I would go (and do) Efficient beams and huge multi (Rapid / corrosive / incend) don't worry about ammo this set-up gets you through 30-40 CZ kills, like a hot knife.

So you cut down power draw on the huge hard points by going pulse laser ... nice, what does "focused" do for the pulse lasers? Amenditman was saying I should use the small hard points for healing/regen is there any other experimental effects I should keep my eye on?

Here's mine.
Lucy

The thing is, lightweight = combat focused.
Lower the mass the more manoeuvrable you get, not just 1.5 extra light years jump range.

I know people who downgrade their fuel tanks to shave off some weight for combat performance, I have tried it and it does make a difference.
Prismatics shields are worthless in combat, I have them tucked in the storage locker, not going to use them again.
Bi-weave with high resists means I can engage wings of three of anything, get knocked down to nearly nothing and be back to full shield strength in less than three minutes.

And the SLF adds another 50dps.

I forget what all focused does but i do remember that it adds distance to the weapon and as much as 60% armor penetration. And it does not add any weight to the weapon.

I recently changed my weps loadout to all turreted burst lasers, long range, on the s/m/l hardpoints and two MCs on the huge hardpoints. I usually don't like weps that consume ammo as I don't want to leave a res or CNB until I want to. But I am happy so far with this setup. Lasers to strip shields and blow up smaller targets allows me to save the MCs for the more robust medium and large NPCs.
