Anyone keeping track of FDX?
I've been getting bits and pieces from the other form. Out drinking so not watching YouTube.
Read some bits about a new squadron system and fleet ships. Where can I find more details?

In the post presentation interview with Bo one chap said that Squadrons will be out Q4 2018. One would assume that the Fleet Carrier will also come then too.
In the presentation they mentioned tools for adding players so my first thought was that it was finally the traditional Guild organisation tools we have asked for for so long, but then I thought that the name "squadron" doesnt really apply to a group with hundreds or more members. A squadron is really only a few people isnt it?
So then that made me think why do they call the carrier a "Fleet Carrier" - I mean a fleet is a large group.
MAybe Im reading too much into it. Wait for more information over the coming months. I expect its only a few scribbles on a note pad in Frontiers offices atm

Yeah, read somewhere that these features were meant for Q4.
Think some players are worried about how it would affect the Solo game. But I'm guessing, that like wings and multi-crew, these features might not be so fleshed out as in other games. E.g. Where other games have guild raids etc., ED's version might just be sort of a meeting place for a group of people. Though at the moment it seems that the Thargoid are going in the "raider" direction.

Well one of the things they mentioned was missions that require a wing to complete, but as for SQNs we have little information beyond there will be SQN communications and the fleet carrier can be used for refuel, rearm, repair and as a spawn point.
The wing missions will obviously be out for Solo players, and as for SQNs, well if someone plays in Solo then I guess they'll just be irrelevant anyway.
Where I can see the SQNs being useful (beyond potentially taking over from things like Discord) is during BGS wars, I can see a scenario where a player faction parks its fleet ship near a bunch of CZs allowing players a close base to rearm and repair quickly.

And, in Open, players spend most of their CZ/CG time defending their fleet ship from heavily engineered attackers carrying out a pre-defined role.
Both fleet ships and squadrons will be very useful in general play for groups that don't run a their own PMF, but support a number of NPC factions over a wider area.
