FdL hard points setup

Postby Orochimaru » Mon Aug 28, 2017 5:31 am

Hello CMDRs

Finally got my FdL and have been testing hard points setup. I'm getting my hands dirty experimenting with cannons, frag cannons and plasma accelerators, and reading on the subject.

Still I'd like to know from your experience, what is your recommended hard point setup.
Thanks CMDRs o7

PS: FdL is a cool ship to fly, sounds like a sports car and handles almost as well as a Vulture. Happy! :)

Sadly.
Fd's idea of balancing modules is make most of them absolute shit except for a few.

Hence why everyone uses efficient modified beams and rapid fire multicannons.
That's basically your two options.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

I see.
Better on a Python?

Not trying to start a FdL vs Python debate, just trying to know if it's easier to setup a Python.

No I was thinking weapon loadouts in general.

Corvette. Efficient beam and rapid fire multi's.
Conda. Efficient beam and rapid fire multi's.
Python. Efficient beam and rapid fire multi's
Fdl. Drum roll please... Efficient beam and rapid fire multi's.

[Sarcasm]Frontier is sooo good at weapon balancing... [/sarcasm]

Ah!

Maybe the way to go is to is forget the top DPS/DPE weapons loadout, and try something different for fun.

But, I got your message and will plan my engineer grind for efficient bean and rapid fire multi's.

Amplify Damage and Bone Spear were the equivalent in Diablo II. Enough to kick the living daylights of Diablo and his minions, in the top difficulty level.

I am being a little pointed, maybe.
No coffee yet.

Only ship I have ended up doing something different with lately was the Vulture, where I am using rapid fire pulses, but an efficient beam and rapid fire mc worked on it as well..

It's almost sad how some guns and mods are so awesome compared to others.
But the efficient beams cost as almost much energy to fire as a pulse laser and with the heat vent effect...
Well, if I need to cool down in the vette I shoot something with my beams, seriously.
Add on a couple of multi's with incendiary mods (except for one high capacity and corrosive), especially rapid fire, shreds armored hulls like they where wet paper.

I am getting a little curious of the long range beams, but I wonder about the heat..

Congrats on the FDL BTW :D

For maximum 'time on target' and kill rate, yup.... I run 4 efficient beams and a huge rapid fire m/c with corrosive on my FDL.

But if you want something a little different that will give you a challenge, use a huge PA (I have one with efficient mod, one with focused that I switch between depending on the power requirements of the rest of my loadout) and either 4 m/c's or 4 pulses.

Yes master Luke, that is what I had in mind while I do not get the engineering stuff done with.

Thank you sir!
