2.4 beta some nice things

Just had a quick check of the new features in 2.4 beta. These are the standouts for me:

- Holo-Me Save Slots - We have added save slots for different Commander appearances in the Holo-Me system
- Synthesis can now create heat sinks, chaff, limpets and top up life support
- Preview game extras in outfitting - You will now be able to preview paint jobs and other game extras available for purchase
- Updated route plotting system:
• maximum route plotting range is now 20Kly
• route plotting is much faster
• there is now an option to make use of neutron star boost when plotting routes
• an icon is displayed on the route to show the last scoopable star before running out of fuel

And....Tada! Selecting distant systems in the Galaxy map has been fixed back to how it used to be!!!

Just seen
Ship kills, and actions to complete planetary hack and disable missions will now only contribute to a single mission, this will be the earliest mission accepted

Mission stacking will be impacted - expected a lot of complaints.

Since you're so happy about it and I am new to the game: What does that mean? Could you please give some detail on it?

You know, this could almost take the fun out of making money...

I'l see if I can get a mission like that someplace where I'm ranked high enough to take it...

Let's say I have a system bookmarked, or an engineer icon, or a community goal icon showing in the Galaxy map some distance away from my current location. Normally one would simply click it to select it - handy if you want to quickly select "plot route" for example. Or I might want to quickly click on a friend's green icon and it's 2,000 Ly away to see where they are, or join them. This mouse selection broke in version 2.3. It's fixed in 2.4

Thank you. Beside other issues I have with the galaxy map I could have use of that fix too! :)
I just didn't know if it's just me ... and then I used the search field.

! that must be a target in a fleet of Corvettes :D

Also note, I see reports that CMDR icons on the scanner are solid now, same as NPCs. Anyone confirm?

"Update on the hollow thing.. If you pull guns, you become a hollow triangle, otherwise, an anonymous shaded rectangle is you. "

Interesting.

I would have loved to test it, but alás the rep thing.

Had a fairly good general test.
Loads of courier missions at least, paying in the +2mil range.
I'm saying loads, I hadn't gone through the whole faction list in the station before I was at my mission limit, and they where all going to the same system btw..

It did also turn into "get the python!" game in the target system, but was some good fights, not unfair ones.
Albeit I had to deal with two conda's at the time and got knocked down to about 40% hull.
Good times.

Also feels like a solid increase in fps, well at least in FPS stability for Vr, and also according to GPU-Z ED is now gone from utilizing 4.5GB RAM to more than 7GB.

Granted of course, 1.5GB is the VR system, but that was there before as well.
