Folks, if you're going to use the salute thing, can we do it properly? This is starting to be really annoying basically because it shows how little people care.
Look at your in-game portrait in chat. You're not looking at the back of your head. Or anyone else.

This o7 is a left-handed salute above your head. You look like Benny Hill. I am not aware of any military in the universe that has ever used left-handed salutes.

This <O is your right hand, and about where it should be by your brow.

Two different keys and maybe the shift key. Is it possible Mobius can lead the way on this correction? Because the game wide use of it has always been very annoying in how wrong it is.

I always thought the salute was from the perspective of the sender, therefore it is their right arm.
The 'o' is the back of the head, not the front.

the o7 is an overhead perspective, looking down on the sender's head. The 7 is the right arm, bent at the elbow. The 'o' is the senders head.

Looks fine to me.

Salute however you like, as long as the message of respectful greeting is conveyed it's cool. o7 has a very long history, so I don't think you're going to get a lot of traction.
