No we do not see the attack it is just Combat aftermath assuming the Thargoid ship there did it.

Something weird is definately going on in Maia. For a couple of times today I've had the supercruise go weird on me, all blurry for a while and then back to normal. The second time it happened I tried to drop back to normal space but there was nothing there. Was worth a try anyway. Went through a few USS too but no scripted events for me. Haven't even seen the "original" one yet.
Got it on video too but the file is 2.2gb so I need to use something to cut it to a much smaller length before uploading.
Edit: Avidemux did the job nicely. The blurry part is right at the beginning. An USS spawned about the same time so I went to see if there is something in there. Here's the clip:
