So Salome was killed....

...by a member of the SDC that was allowed into a group that was dedicated to protect her, and people are surprised?

"It's in my Nature" said the scorpion. (you can google that reference if needed)

As soon as I saw that SDC was saying they were going to Protect her, I knew the outcome. Hard to believe that not every person in the game did not see this coming based on prior actions.

Again, Mobius, thanks for this group.

Also goes to show, yet again.

THESE EVENTS DOES NOT WORK!
It's cute they want to throw some real story based game play, but this was just half assed and doomed to start.

But I'm sure fd Isn't afraid to retcon it.

I'm grumpy about the whole thing. I don't want this crap in the game, or showing up in the Multi-Crew menu. The whole storyline seems really wanky. There, told you I was grumpy. ;-)

The only reason I knew this event was happening was when I kept being kicked by the server :( I gave up in the end.

Luckily I have 3 weeks to finish off my passenger mission I was doing at the time!

I didn't keep up with the event (wasn't that interested) but am not surprised this happened.

As far as I understood Drew Wager author of Reclamation and Premonition decided to let the community decide the outcome of his book Premonition.

So he set up this event where he was playing Salome and some relatives/friends where playing the other 3 characters.

They emerged in the Open at 46 Eridani, winged up with their protectors and started their run towards the bubble.

Instancing issues, network issues where occurring since 17:30 Game time so their protectors where kicked out of the instance/game.

Drew (Salome) winged up with an SDC member who eventually attacked and killed him (her).
Please note that the SDC member (Harry Potter) was in the friends list of Salome so it was easy for him to track her

The rest of the team (Tsu, Raan, Yuri) made it safely and there are some listening posts on the Teorge system where more clues of the mystery can be found

Everybody involved had a very good idea that SDC would switch sides, I even had conversations with the admirals about this and they agreed.
But it was better to "keep your enemies close" as it were as they could've very easily killed all 3 VIP's if they'd have been lurking.
"He is not deceived who knows himself to be deceived"

HP wasn't winged with her, I don't think but she did leave her escort and cooked her FSD to the point it was malfunctioning. Then didn't fight the interdiction. HP even said during the mini game "come on Salome, fight the interdiction". So there's a medium sized chunk of me that thinks it may have been a scripted end.
Everyone won really, Salome got a good death and martyr status, we protected 3/4 of the VIP's SDC got more notoriety. And most of all, we had fun (well I and my fleet did anyway)

I say let's all track Harry Potter and gank him till he's broke. Would start an all out war but hey at least we show them that we respect the events and can try to make the story more interesting

You ever watched Nolans "The Dark Knight"? This guy's practically the Joker. He's just out for your (as in: all peoples) attention in order to establish forcefully an emotional link. That's what he's feeding on.

He shoots your ship down and you get to respond to him (in any way), he gets happy, because he made your emotions come up.
You shoot him down as revenge, he's happy, because he made you divert your attention and time on him. He's important then.

It's practically a Mortons Fork: You can only decide between two ruinous options.

And it works. He already got the most out of his dickish behaviour by having become the most notorious player of the whole community.

Seriously, the only reasonable reaction is to ignore that guy and his cronies and suffer their folly without response whatsoever.

And to hope for Star Citizen to pop up as soon as possible.

Once that thing is up and running A LOT of this militant PVP-Gankers will drift to the shiny new playground, like locusts to a ripe corn field, in order to fuck up the newbs' experiences there, thus dropping this "lame carebear"-'verse we are playing in - which these "misunderstood" content creator people had wanted to "enrich for us" - in an instant.

That is my plan. Any unwanted PVP, I'll just zero my throttle, drop my shields, and walk away from the computer. If I come back to a rebuy screen, I won't give a crap - it's only credits (which are too damn easy to make anyway).
