Limpets and module storage

Postby evovi » Fri Mar 17, 2017 11:15 am

Firstly, anyone else hit their module storage limit ? I'm hoarding modules in a couple of systems so I can swap roles for some of my ships, I'm not fond of hopping around buying modules so I can haul some cargo or ferry passengers around so the module storage was quite handy for me, I wish it was station based like ships are :(

Anyways, I've ended up buying and equipping a new Python for use as a mining barge (more engineer grinding) after "hopping around" I've got it as I want it, it's got 196t cargo space and a 10 bin refinery, total of five collector limpets and two prospector capability - what limpet stock should I be carrying to maximise my mining role/cargo space - is there a ratio people use ?

I find 2/3 of my cargo space with limpets works well

I have had to preen my stored modules three times already.

At least.

Fast approaching full again.

The limit at 60 modules is comically low. But still not as bad as the UI for it.
Especially for us with a few of the big ships with loads of weapon hardpoints and just as many utility slots.
If you want to carry a second loadout for a conda, cutter and corvette.
Well that's it, you are full.

Hey I'm Thor -
People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

Thanks, will have a crack with that, the many wasted hours in eve mining with my hulk might have killed any excitement I have towards unlocking these engineers lol

Combat, passenger and cargo Modules for my Python have bloated me, that coupled with 3 Fer-de-Lance's parked around the bubble To save my time if I'm in fed space or imperial with a choice of weapon load outs, and I've three load outs for the asp, again passenger, multi and exploration - per station module limit needed imo

I used to store modules like that until I realized that everything I was storing is available everywhere, generally within a few LY. Now I only have a few engineered FSDs sitting around for when I get the itch to fly something new. Other than that it's not worth the time and money to transfer most mods to your station. If you need one of those modules out in the middle of nowhere, well, module storage isn't going to help there.

I take all but 5 open spaces worth, Im in pristine rings, and hunting the top 3 payers.
I burn a pile of limpets, but bring back 2/3 painite most of my runs.
