Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Curious what this community thinks of this. Personally I joined Mobius the same day I started Elite Dangerous.

I am a day one mobius PvE player. Never done solo or open.

Just another "If they would only change their play style to something that they completely hate and give up on fun, they would see the light!" video, if worded more politely. Move along, unless you want to give lots of thumbs-down. (I'd advise against commenting, everything that needs to be said has been said, and you can give thumbs-down without feeding the trolls.)

But to be honest, I couldn't resist commenting. He seems to believe we are suffering here and that playing in PG is somehow inflicting some sort of hardship on us. I felt compelled to clarify that part.

Platter is not a bad guy. He just missed the mark on this one.

I agree, I enjoy his video's and have learned from him. I appreciate his stance and his willingness to put it out there. But I was shocked at how far off he is. Clearly, a massive percentage of players in this game want a PvP-free social experience. FD was kind enough to allow large scale private servers for that population. Seems like a win-win to me. People who want to grief can, and people who want that risk are free to fly in open. Those who still want a breathing economy w/o the PvP get to have that as well. I don't see a downside.

I lurk this forum, play in PvP servers.

I don't see this guys point. How does people playing against the AI hurt my gaming?

I played WoW PvE. My PvP friends never batted an eyelash.

While I realize he is just addressing a common "often controversial" topic, His fundamental logic is flawed that a fully developed crime and punishment system in game is the answer to more people playing in open.

I mean there is even a cmdr in the comments section that says no amount of punishment or penalty will keep him from killing commanders. Why would I want to deal with that? Because its fun for him?

I don't play in Mobius because of what happens to a player when he kills me!
I play in Mobius because of what happens to ME when a player kills me.

I want a fun, relaxing space simulation to enjoy with like minded cmdrs. Why is that so difficult for some people to comprehend?

Oh well. Good thing for us those people don't make the rules!

I was gonna leave a comment, not really worth my time. He tries to stay middle of the road on the whole thing, but even saying some people in Mobius are special snowflakes is pretty telling.

This guy sounds incredibly like the chap who narrates the official Pilot Tutorials for ED.

And yeah, he tries to say he's impartial but then says "you and your 50,000 people, hiding in your private group..." at the end.
