Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

The Pleiades Concordat is just starting its march towards greatness. It is a group that has submitted an application to become a minor faction, and is set up as a quasi-religious faction with a strong expansionist aspect to it. There is tons of information on Inara about it, but here are the basics for the RP side:

The Pleiades Concordat is a Theocracy formed by the merger of a political party and the Apocalyptican faith movement. The Apocalypticans worshiped the deity who they believe sent the “Angels of Heaven” in 3125. The Pleiades Concordat was signed in 3302 by Primus Timothy Dalen and the leaders of the faith when evidence of the Angels were found, recognizing it as the official state faith. Since that momentous event, the Pleiades Concordat began developing in earnest, creating key scriptures and ordering its organizational branches. It has also developed a strong expansionist mentality.

I always like to help Friendly factions but I can't support a Theocracy, in afraid.
I would've have hoped that by the 3300's religion would be a distant memory of a dark chapter of humanities past

Lol.....dark chapter of humanity's past? It is as old as the stone age (4,000,000 yrs approximately) and has not even slowed down yet in the 21st century. You think it would be gone in just 1300 years? I think belief systems are innate in human condition and will keep reoccurring (wither with a deity involved in the system or not) unless our psychological condition changes in some way.

But enough of this....if you take a look at the Inara the religion is about a bunch of people who see the aliens who came in the first elite games as the harbingers of the Apocalypse and essentially see them as the Angels of some diety to be welcomed. Wanted to make a faction that takes a different approach to the introduction of the alien crash sites and perhaps a resurgence of them in the game. Seemed like good role play to take it from this approach.

Imaginary friends after a certain stage of development is a sign of madness, but if you make it vague enough you can get a fan club built around your delusions.

Religious beliefs are innate to humanity, but honestly only the stupid and small minded ones.
Sadly those are the ones breeding the most, so unless we can get a benevolent AI booted up and start a guided eugenics program we are shit out of luck.

See how you feel in six months' time when you may - or may not - accidentally find out if your faction has been recognised and inserted into the game.

Be prepared for schism - a lot can happen in half a year.

I'm perfectly fine with my insanity.

But I don't pretend it's a doctrine for morality or "will of the universe", I'm just me.

Some people take games as serious as religions. I refuse to point to the BILLION PAGE Open/Solo/Group posts or the Combat Loggers/Greifing posts.

But yes, we were talking about a group. Unfortunately sometimes being part of a group will be compared to other things.
