Guessing the main reason to support him is for the FSD disruption missile.

Not a lot of use for that in PVE centric group.

Considering what his supporters did to overwhelm the dangerous games however, I expect he will hold the top spot in power play inside of two weeks.

Probably since they are the only group of players even giving two fucks about power play these days.

Actually back in my very early days of ED I do remember seeing a short video demonstrating this i think.

These will be terrible and I'm surprised more of a fuss hasn't been made.

powerplay is rather more complicated than that.
First off they are covered by a very agressive power. zachary hudson.
As active in powerplay my guess everyone will look at them as a hostile little skunk.
They will have one hell of a hurdle to get anywhere. no matter how many players they have.
Powerplay mechanics are shit everyone agrees, but to be succesful it requures coordination.
as the power i am in has constant attack from terrorists doing bad from inside trying to hurt us. Yet we prevail.

powerplay scene these days has most of the time been Empire vs Feds. Zachary Hudson and Felicia Winters vs Arissa Lavingy-Duval.
With aisling doing whatever the heck she is doing.
While also empire Zemina Torval everyone forgot is doing pretty ok.
everyonr seems to concentrate ALD vs fed.
Not to forget patreus is also under attack.

So powerplay is alive. there are dedicated people doig it. most of us just dont gloat in public.
