In my defense, I didn't mean to log into mobius at all as I was just testing different HUD matricies, which entailed logging in and out, leaving the station and docking again over and over. At first I thought, hey that's some nice evasive flying by that NPC, then I realised. Very much my bad.
I did finally manage to find a neutral HUD matrix (grey or white depending on your HUD intensity) with red enemies and blue shields and notifications.
It also seems that the emissive HUD elements are derived from the underlying colour values, not the intensity slider, so I set the reds to be as low as possible which cuts down the spurious cockpit illumination a lot (because red is the bulk of the orange colour in the HUD and is transformed to white, which emits a lot of light normally, which I don't like much). The downside is that the reds in the station UI are very dim. I can live with that though.

Thanks. I have seen NO2O and various other collections and random posts that turned up during my search.
The problem is, most neutral HUDs turn my cockpit into this:
I got bored of reloading the game endlessly and EDprofiler doesn't seem to accurately preview the changes I'm making at this point.
I'm going to try
something else so if I should disappear all of a quickness, it's probably because I'm cooling my heels in a detention center in FDev's basement. Still, it's all in the name of a good cause and it will be CMDR Likewise's head on the chopping block, not CMDR Deal's

Currently in the top 50% for both CG's. Might have to try and get some bounty hunting in to secure that one.

I was doing the community goal but I just decided to ditch that and return to flying around passengers and exploring

Managed to run out of fuel about 5k LY or 6k LY from Colonia on a neutron-hopping trip towards Sag A* by blindly hitting next system in route/hyperspace while chatting on discord. Came out of hyperspace with only a smidge of fuel left (ED Discovery reported 0.0 tons) but the AFR ran empty while I was still cursing myself, and so the rest of my fuel disappeared into the AFR.
Fortunately, my alt was still in colonia in the long range Anaconda used to deliver 400t of MA to Dove Enigma, so I parked my main account in the main menu, put rat gear into the alt's ship, flew over, and rescued myself.
Lessons learned:
1) Don't text and fly
2) Running two instances of Horizon at the same time on a single PC still works.

Lol, never heard of someone rescuing themselves. Good job!
Really shocked you could do that on one PC.
