It was 27 when I got up at 06:00 this morning....

Then went to work in a non air conned office which was hitting 29.5 for most of the day...

Get home and it's 28 inside again......

Talk about energy sapping.....Uncomfortable all day and will be all night....

Aircon is for sissies ... real men deal with the heat and sweat ... and drink bear and sweat more ... and so on ...

Very true, we have a/c, and thankfully a very dry climate. We keep the house at 79-80, which translates to 26c. Probably MUCH warmer than people who live in cold climates would be comfortable with.

I feel for the guys at work that are outside.....on the asphalt.... all day. The heat coming off that blacktop is unbearable. Not to mention what it's like inside the cars that have been baking in the sun all day. Ugggg.

Right now it's 9:30 AM and 106°, which is 41c. It's going to be another toasty one today!

Tonight I've been flying round the neighbours of my new home system, introducing myself and getting to know them so they give me juicy missions.
My new home is much closer to Azrael as I'm helping out there a lot but I'm still in fed space so I can work on that Corvette rank when things are quiet

I might be an EE, and worked in aerospace and semiconductor (before moving back'n forth with IT), but I grew up in a civil engineering household (it's why I learned trig at age 9).

I never understood how and why governments let engineering firms half-@$$'d it -- or vice-versa, the 'lowest bidder' crap, and 'loose requirements' -- when it comes to infrastructure. Build it for far greater variances and tolerances than ever believed would happen.

I have the same argument in aerospace, especially USAF designs. The US Navy has to deal with corrosion and other things, so they do it right, even if there is a performance penalty. That alone cost General Dynamics (now Lockheed) some F-16 sales to the Northrop-McDonald (now Boeing) F-18 products. And the GE F4x4 series engine is definitely preferred in many applications over the GE F100 or the Pratt, especially in non-US airframes.

You know, in general the temperatures are getting warmer in the UK. You would have thought by now we would have changed the compound of the tarmac to to give it a higher melting point. Its not as if this is a new event lol
