Unfortunately there is no easy way to add players from the in-game friends list to the game. I recommend starting from the bottom (newest members) and working your way up the list. This is how I chose to add players:

I used a different method.....
I would run E-D windowed, and set the window to a smaller size than my desktop, so that I could move it to the side. I copied the friends list to a document on my HD. I'd then view the friends list on one side of my screen, and manually type in the names into E-D. When I'd had enough for the day, I'd put an indicator on my file (like >>>>>) to know where I left off.
That method was faster than copy, alt-tab, paste, alt-tab, copy, rinse and repeat.
But... to each their own.
