Was exploring the Maia system, around the black hole... had a few good rolls on scavenging, some data caches, escape pods.. scanned teh whole blacjk hole system (took a long while), then just after scanning the black hole itself and heading back to bank the data, i stumble upon a degraded emission signal.. with only one AI relic.
Suddenly, ships appear and i blow up before being even able to put pips to engines (i lasted between 1 and 2 seconds).

Typically the kind of shit i can't stand in a game, inescapable traps that are only made to make you lose time, money and patience.. scripted death basically.

soooooo headed back to the black hole... remembering not to enter grade 3 degraded emissions signals, unless i am in a wing with a bunch of Elite friends with overengineered anacondas

I decided to try out passengers missions. So now I have a shiny new modded Orca to fly sightseeing tours out of Rhea. Not many people talk about the Orca but it's actually pretty comfortable to fly and nice to look at. Surprisingly with a mild lvl 3 dirty drive it will boost to 500ms. It's now my new explorer ship too. I'm also thinking about getting into trading missions so I bought some cargo modules for it.

Not many people talk about the Orca but it's actually pretty comfortable to fly and nice to look at. Surprisingly with a mild lvl 3 dirty drive it will boost to 500ms. The Orca is a surprisingly underrated ship, as you say it's a lot faster than most think, flys rather well and, since they buffed it, has a decent jump range.

It's my default passenger ship.

I took the engineered 5A FSD out of my now retired DBX and it will do 43ly outfitted for exploring. There's room for more but it's respectable. The DBX got 54ly but for me it's about exploring in comfort and style.
