I think a fully tricked out corvette is around 500 million, though you'll still have a fine ship well short of that. Anaconda is probably closer to 300.

And the rest, military armor and an 8A PP is going to set you back 320M alone

That said an 8B PP is fine if you stick to pulse and multis, and you can live without the armor so 400-450 will get you a good build, throw in a few engineer mods and you have a good ship

I feel like those pieces are there to make you really grind/invest time into your ship. You can have the ships at the top rate, but you've got to put a serious effort into them, and after that, you might not be able to afford that insurance. It makes sense as an artificial barrier to entry, and also to keep people that can't really afford that from getting it too early. By the time you've equipped those things, you've likely developed the skill to go with it.

I figured that went without saying, since no combat vehicles have crazy long jump ranges compared to explorers.


Which was hilarious when I forgot I was in open and a player was wake scanning me on short jumps with his Vette to take my bounty. His mistake was telling me he finally caught up with me, so I high waked it out of there. No way he could follow. :D :D

This is my current Combat Anaconda fit

There's nothing in PvE that fit can't handle even without the military armor. I never get my shields down so i really didn't have the need for armor hull upgrades. If i'm fighting 1vs1 it's a faceroll... 1vs many makes me use a SCB if there are multiple big ships. Other than that - that fit destroys anything in any RES IF you know how to fly a ship and IF you know how to properly use FA off

Also - i smacked a grade 4 FSD upgrade on it and she can jump 20lys now with all those HRPs :D
