Space is full of junk!

When I started out with Elite way back in Beta, there was all this "isn't space huge" sentiment going on. You could go on and on and find no traces of civilization.
Now, with Horizons released it's more a case of "isn't space cluttered".
I know we need plenty of content to entertain people but, honestly, it seems a bit much when every lump of rock that we can land on has wrecks and various bases scattered around.
I've set off on an exploration cruise in my Python with a pair of SRVs and I'm finding that I'm getting a bit bored with the routine after landing.
There're tons of minerals to keep your SRV fueled so you can keep going and find more of the same. Some rather scarcer elements needed for jump range boosting are a bit of a chore to track down, and then there are crashed ships and such.
I'm gradually filling up my hold with salvaged materials, isn't there a lot of gold lying around!
I'm thinking that perhaps I'll just press on with my trip until I'm well outside the bubble and see if things are any different (I'm currently 800 lys out from Sol) but I've a sneaking suspicion that's it's going to be the same story all over.
Mind you, I haven't found any of those "Barnacle" things yet, so there's that to look forward too.....

Couldn't agree more, if you get to 100+ ly of populated space.

There should be maybe, AT MOST one singular POI per solar system, if that many.

In my experience, it gets a bit better once you're far outside of the bubble. On my most recent trip, out across the Sagittarius Gap, to NGC 6357 at the farthest and back, I personally saw a grand total of two or three POIs, and saw the markers for maybe four or five others. Most of which were within about 800 Ly of the edge of the bubble.

The only POI that I saw farther out than that was some sort of wrecked nav beacon or data point that I found approximately 5400 Ly from Sol. Granted, I didn't land all that much, but if you're just landing on the occasional random world here and there either to do some looking around, gather materials, or rest, you likely won't see all that many. However, in and fairly close to the bubble? Yeah, it's pretty cluttered.

Latest find....
I'm over 4000 light years out, I fancy stretching my legs so I land on the smallest rock I can find, only 320km in diameter with a gravity of 0.04g
Oh look, I see a POI... only yet another crashed ship with a couple of occupied escape pods lying nearby!
Still haven't come across any Yttrium or Polonium for FSD boost though.....

MB said in a recent live stream that there are too many POI outside of the bubble and that they are reducing the number with 2.1
