Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Hi folks, loaded up game this morning and it seems i cant get on Mobius.

Have i been kicked for some reason!?

This is a PvE group, looks like you were booted for killing another player.

Yeah i thought someone might say that, since no one posted in the thread where the guy got destroyed, i asked in there if it was something to do with the odd msg i got yesterday.

Is this some sort of wind up because i have no weapons on my Cutter, apart from the fact i obviously know this is a PVE group, and i did not come anywhere near having a collision with any players yesterday, let alone actually hitting someone.

I was trucking between Brestla and Njamissing for most of yesterday chatting away to lots of Cmdrs.
I recieved a direct msg at some point yesterday afternoon, that looked something like this: [Direct][] Why did you destroy my ship? it did not say who it was from, so i asked as i was docking in local chat..' who got destroyed? wtf? was that an npc msg?' then another cmdr (cant remember name) said 'i dunno it happened before i got here'.

When i approached the station i had a clear run in, there were no cmdrs outside and only 2 docked, one of whom who replied to me.

I totally confused to what has happened, can someone explain please.

We received a report from a player saying that you killed him. He was flying a T7 and provided us with a screenshot of the Ship Destroyed screen that read “Your ship has been destroyed by CMDR JP76”. He said he asked why you destroyed him and got no reply.

Right ok, when i asked who got destroyed, no one replied to me except the guy who said 'i dunno it happened before i got here'

i waited a good while for responses, because i thought it was odd, and then sold my goods to the market, loaded up again etc...in all that time no one else replied.
Why wasn't the Cmdrs name displayed when i received the 'why did you destroy my ship' msg?
Why did they not reply when i asked who?
And how exactly did i supposedly kill him?

Sorry folks but i DID NOT kill anyone and obviously wouldn't...im actually now concerned that i may have been hacked or something? is it possible for my account to be used twice in the same instance!?
Im going to speak to FD about it as i have know knowledge of me killing anyone!!

Sorry, I don’t have the answers to your questions. Contacting FD about it seems to be a good idea. I don’t think your account has been hacked, but with the recent server problems, it doesn’t seem impossible to me that a player could see you but you couldn’t see him. The fact that you didn’t see his name in the message you received also seems to accredit that theory.

Usually a message with no name appears when the sender has just been destroyed at the instance the message was sent, you see that with npc threats when you blow them up.

I must admit, I did see the thread where the victim said he'd been destroyed and Cmdr JP76 asked if it were him. I'm sure he'd have known straight off if not for the name being removed due to Name and Shame rules.

It's a reason I use the Nvidia Instant Replay feature. If I accidentally kill someone, I can at least have evidence that it wasn't deliberate (or that it was, but that's another kettle of fish).

I hope it gets sorted out to everyone's satisfaction.

Yeah thanks Siobhan, i only saw that thread this morn when my name had already been removed, it made me think of the msg i got thats why i replied.
