Asking the real questions.

I spent a little less than a week of play time taking donation missions, not having cargo means not seeing the missions asking for stuff and after handing in about 4-6 mil total I was Rear Admiral and sitting pretty in Lucy the battle vette...

Dear FD. About these game mechanics...

Rear Admiral from what rank? Should I expect similar results currently being a Lieutenant?

I did it over 4-5 weeks but I guesstimate that's about the time I actually tried for and I was a mere midshipman when I started.

It does involve exploiting as much as possible. One find a system with as many charity missions as possible and cycle groups. Solo - open - and as many player groups as you can get into.
Once I have done a full loop of groups I would wait a few minutes before starting a new loop.
It's the quickest way for sure but it's also mind numbingly boring.

last weekend best system was 17 draconian 400 ly out of the the bubble.
since rank up missions out there can take you to places that doesn't spawn needed signal sources. I just took a shuttle hauler out there and went back to my python inside the bubble for ranking up.
Do not leave draconis before you start seeing rank up missions.

Even though the display says 100% rank.
I suspect it rounds up but the game does not present rank missions for 99.5%.
and rank does not stop progressing if you do take more missions I often found myself at 2-3% after ranking up since I did a few more missions before leaving since why not.

People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

I usually "abandon" escape pods at the nearest station rather than sell them off. Sure, a reward would be nice, but I'm happy to help a pilot in need when it's on my way

If my theory about them being corpses is true, that is darkly hilarious.

I played Pirates of the Burning Sea for a couple of years and they allowed custom sails with no real issues. They just allowed you to upload what you wanted and didn't review it unless a complaint came in. Personally I never saw anything that might be considered objectionable.

Another possibility is to allow people to submit decals to the store for sale. They would pick the ones they thought would make them cash and you could be given a small fee for creating it--be it cash, a discount on a store purchase, some in-game credits, etc. People would have more choices, they'd sell more product, win-win.
Aim to please; shoot to kill.

I'm thinking of the poor guy working on the starport floor stratching his head at yet another corpse turn up on his turf.

Either way, I'm happy with the results xD
