Corvette loadout thread

Postby pargyrak » Wed Jan 06, 2016 9:57 am

Time to give the new gal her own thread...

My current loadout:

http://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_corve ... te-SCB-III

And now I am contemplating between:

http://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_corve ... tte-SCB-IV

With a jump range less than 12ly and getting damage every time I fire an SCB (so I need to use the AFMU) or

http://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_corve ... ette-SCB-V

With one more ly of jump range, no damage when firing SCBs but of course less shield recharge

Thoughts/Trolls/Suggestions welcome

Here is my current setup. I haven't found a good reason to splurge another $100M on the 8A power plant yet. The 7A SCB's create some heat, but not enough for me to worry about a HS or AFMU. I've only fired them a hand full of times since I started flying the Vette. 8-)

You guys are throwing on way too much armor, and you will suffer for it, I just tested out in Exioce with lucy and just changing from 5d's for 3d's improves agility noticeably, due too the reduced mass.

And for not needing an a8 plant ? serioulsy mine is at 139% power draw if I don't offline a bunch of mods

Gentlemen I give you Lucy
Yeah, those beams do keep me toasty, if I accidentally hit boost and fires at the same time I can easily hit 120% heat :P
I now have them split into first and secondary fire and that keeps me from overheating and is generally plenty, thinking of putting the huge hardpoints to use and run beams and two huge cannons.

Another layout I can recommend is three large burst's and cannons the medium and smalls.

And again about mass, Roger Wilco JR really nailed something the other day with his Seagals (hullpoints to mass ratio)

You can make a 3k armour behemoth, yes, but I don't really think you are going to want to.

Update:
Of course, my bad, gave the wrong credit for the HP\mass bit, it's of course Lion of Narnia's epiphany and not Rogers.
My apologies to the Lion.

Well, it's all a trade off. Of course you need an 8A power plant since you run a full beam setup. It's not necessary if kinetics and lighter lasers are used.

Wrong, just the lessened weight, and improved heat management from the A class power plant more than makes it worth it alone.
But yea, it's a pricy mother fucker :P

You are thinking about Lion in this post. Although I have been bitching about armor/bulkheads vs. maneuverability. ;)
It's time to give this another go.

I agree that the A power plant is lighter, but right now I'm not going to put another $100 mil into the ship to loose some weight and gain power that I don't need with the loadout that is working well for me.

This is my loadout right now: http://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_corve ... 20Corvette

Base Stats:
1.629 MJ Shields
1.326 Armor
13.45LY Full Tank / 12.45LY Laden (128T Cargo)

Why 6A SCB instead of 7A?
- less weight
- only 20MJ less recharge per use

Why C7 Fuel (D or C) scoop?
- Cheaper then 6A / 6B
- Same or better performance

Tested it in PVE and it performs quite good.
