Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I've been trading and doing some light bounty-hunting on the side for the past week and finally got enough credits to get an Asp Explorer after trading in the Type-6. My goal is to have the agility and firepower of my Cobra and the cargo capacity of my Type 6 in one ship, and the Asp Explorer to my delight exceeds both of these ships at their tasks. So I went ahead and made a loadout, but I'm still not quite sure if this investment is worth it. I'm still about half a million short (roughly, quick mental math) from all the parts I want to get, but thought I'd run it here with you guys first.

My main focus as of now is trading. But I'd happily do anything that pays, including bounty hunting and smuggling if necessary. Not quite ready to venture into pirating or exploring, though. Thanks peeps!

I may be a tad bias.. but yes, and as you get more credits you can upgrade to a A5 FSD and zoom across the systems..


Edit: I Tweaked your loadout a tad to give you a few better options (they are only my suggestions)

The asp easily replaces and then some the type 6, granted it takes about 15 mil in ship and fitting to make it shine.

And I kind of hate the asp :p

I've heard nothing but good things about the ASP in regards to doing trading. Most people that I've spoken to have stated that they really start making the credits when they run trade routes with the Asp.

ASP's are marvellous all rounders, I still use mine now. But.. do make sure what ever you decide, that you have the insurance and costs to get started again All ships have their quirks and while you're getting used to it.. Well, loosing your ASP, ain't nice

Personally I would go with 4 small Pulse lasers and 2 Medium Multi Cannon's. You won't get hit by the penalty against hulls of larger ships with the larger Multi's so badly.

Thanks a lot for the help guys! Just bought one earlier this evening and happy to report that I've already made back the ~3m I spent upgrading it, plus 1.8M more as of now! Now I can both haul a crapload of stuff, and defend myself when necessary. Pwn'd 4 ships already and got at least 200k in bounties! The Asp is really proving to be an excellent investment

once you get a A5 FSD in it you will be blown away at your range.. especially if you lighten her up a bit ^,^

Easily one of my favourite ships.
As Mouse said, it's really famous for it's staggering jump range.

I have no weapons on mine, my jump range is 32ly.

Well here is my load out....Cost a bit more than 6 mill as can be seen.....This is the only ship I have and use it for everything......It can definitely hold its own in a fight and the range even with all the stuff I have is good......Obviously I can adapt it to be better at certain roles...But I tend just to poodle around in this build....
