I partly get why people rage quit now...

Went into a SSS to find 3 wings - 1 law 2 pirate - each had an Anaconda with a selection of Cobra's, Eagles and Sidewinders. Blew a couple of smaller ships and noticed that one of the pirate Conda's was no shield and 80%ish hull. Targeted and got the kill. In the process though the police 'Conda smashed into the pirate 'Conda and I hit him once - just once (OK with 3 pulse lasers) - and I get a 100CR bounty on my head. So after the pirate Anaconda is taken down I turn tail to jump out of the system, when all the police ships totally ignore the pirates with multi 100K bounties on their heads and aim for me with a little 100CR bounty for accidentally scraping the shields of a stupid cop who got in the way cause he can't turn.
So as I boost away the police 'Conda rams me causing insta-death.
I get that I got a bounty for accidentally grazing the shields of someone who got in the way. Even though I feel it should have been a fine as there was no harm done and it wasn't sustained fire. But why do the police then ignore these pirates with massive bounties on their heads (read - multiple murders and thefts) and immediately go for the smallest 100CR bounty in the field for grazing a shield?!
I brought back my Python for 3.5mill, lost about 250k bounties (thankfully had only just left dock). Then calmly quit and came here to rant! LOL
This experience has made me have more of an understanding of why people rage quit the game. Considering there was no damage done (aside from maybe 1-2% of shield loss), it wasn't sustained fire and the ship I hit wasn't the one I had targeted, I don't get why I got a bounty? It just doesn't make sense, a fine yes - even a large one, but a bounty?! Of 100CR?!
OK rant over, walking away from the game for a while and working on my CNC router for a bit
