Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Well to my pittance it is - hauling between azrael and dioce in my type 6, I get interdicted - throttle back, drops out of SC and boosts away... Within seconds my shields have gone.. Fires FSD up, mass locked - boosts away again and it charges - off I go with 120% heat and 40% hull... And a cargo hatch malfunction which drops my load just before I manage to get out of normal flight - Gets to within 30ls of miller terminal and he pulls me out again... As soon as I drop out of SC pop I'm dead 1.3 million In cargo and my lovely ship popped biggest loss ever for me

Running a virtually a rated type 6 now with boosters and heat sink launcher...

Lesson learned

Yeah its these lessons that make us better pilots, I know some fly without shields. I would never risk it. I had a loss of about 7 million when my Python full loaded with Palladium went bang and it made me take every precaution.

Ouch 7 million! Why do people run without shields ?? I can't see sense in a few extra tonnes in cargo over a shield generator...

This one runs without shield when flying a taxi hauler across space to pick up a stranded vessel! But otherwise, even while exploring - Shields up and running at a full constant.

Also! Sorry to hear about the loss, but as you so wisely said; Lesson learned. This one has learned most things the hard way by now, and is quite certain there are many more hideous surprises in store once I finally start to risk flying outside the bubble with many a hundred light years from a station to repair at.

Think my biggest loss was about 2.5 million I was attacked in my type 7 while lining up the mail slot so tried boost into a station while my shields were still down and slammed into the station wall

My biggest loss was 2.1 mil when auto dock decided boosting my type 7 in to the wall of the station was a better idea than flying threw the mail slot... haven't trusted it since

When you enter a system, select another as destination. If you’re interdicted, you won’t be mass locked when jumping to another system.

At what point do the pirate npc's give up chase - if I would have jumped system what would the chances of him following me? Any tactics for using the system jump to break mass lock? To loose the pirate I mean... Worth knowing these things to keep a level head lol, cos when panic sets in, some things don't necessarily become automatic and second nature

NPC’s won’t follow you. And there’s no tactic. It’s just that high wakes aren’t affected by mass locking like low ones are.
