Time for some more exploring!

I've been doing some bounty hunting with my Vulture but I've recently felt the need for another trip into deep space.
So I've set myself up with my Asp "Golden Hind" as a pure explorer, no armaments at all, just maxed out for jump range.
She'll do over 33ly jumps with a full fuel tank, so I should be able to get a long way from populated space pretty quickly.
I'll probably do my usual and pick a random direction away from the tourist hot spots, and spend a couple of weeks seeing what's out there....
See you all next month some time (hopefully!)
Here's the configuration of my ship....Image

Have fun out there. I started that same thought process a couple of days ago so I'll see you out there. Only difference was I couldn't find an A class FSD before leaving but didn't want to wait any longer.

Ah that exploration bug niggling at the back of your brain? :D Ten days in and I have no intentions of returning any time soon. Fly safe out here commanders, maybe we will cross paths but I highly doubt it :P

Let the Earth Likes be plenty :D

All this talk of exploration makes me want to go myself, I've already looked at an Adder or T6 that could serve as my exploration vessel.

You would get better range with your Python, surely?

The Python would do about 25LY, the T6 I put together does 26, nothing much in it and if I lost the T6 it wouldn't hurt so much financially. (according to the E:D Shipyard site)

It's a while since I've been out and it is noticeable how much fewer undiscovered systems there are. 800 ly out from Sol and still not hit one. I'm sure I'll find plenty further out, planning on going out a long way this time!

In all fairness, I travel 200ly without batting an eyelid, I can imagine that 800ly in exploring is peanuts.

I know that I'm not very far out yet but I remember hitting undiscovered systems around 500 ly out previously. I'm sure that the "bubble" of explored space is expanding all the time. I don't expect to settle down to any serious surveying until I'm at least a couple of thousand lys from home....
I do find it strange how many discovered but "unexplored" systems there are in inhabited space. Some have them have even got space stations, so how can they be unexplored? It doesn't make sense to me....
