If you're gonna be in Mobius...

C'mon man.
If you're going to be in Mobius, at least say 'hi' when someone says 'hi' to you. I get it if you're busy docking or entering/exiting the station, but if you're sitting on the pad, at least say 'hi' back. I'm looking at you Mr. Conda that was at Howard. I saw you leave a few seconds after I docked...I know you weren't afk. And if you own a 'conda and don't know the default '2' to chat, please turn in your 'conda and ED card for one week as punishment.
I mean, if you're not even willing to say 'hi' when someone says 'hi', why not just play solo?

many of us don't know how to use comms, and they can be rather scary and offputting until you use them for the first time and see how simple it is
it's also easy to miss a message; i noticed that if you're looking at the side panels you don't see comms, and i spend an awful lot of time in those (particularly at RESs, where you're very likely to meet a fellow CMDR - if you're scanning the contact list looking for Anacondas, you don't see the radar or comms)
so some of us might actually be ignorant or rude, but others might not be though may appear that way due to ED's quirks. just saying.

Ok. I just think that if you join Mobius, vs. playing solo, that means you want a little social interaction, or are at least open to comms. If that's the case, wouldn't the first thing you do be to find out how to open chat?
I'll type "press 2 for comms" if they don't respond I guess. I'm not looking for their life story,or why they are afraid of the color yellow, just a short chat.

its also possible that they accidentally disabled local chat, if you are not used to the menus its an easy thing to do and not something you would notice right away.

When I'm on the pad I'm usually in the station menu and that blocks the comms panel, although you can still hear the ding if you are paying attention and know what it means. The guy could have been finishing up buying commodities or selecting his destination, and if using a headset, could have been giving his ears a rest, or just had the volume turned down or music playing, so never heard or saw the message until much later. The longest I'll sit on the pad and not be in the menu is to just take a few seconds to check to make sure it is clear to launch.
I never refuse a comm request that I see, but I know I've missed a few. And I've only initiated a handful chats with strangers, with about half responding and half with no reply (for whatever reason).

Yeah, one thing that drives me nuts is the 'loose seatbelt effect'. You slow down and now you can't see the comms or info panel, and parts of the bottom hud go off screen. If setting FOV to 70 didn't break OCR, I'd stay at 70. I really hope they give us the option to disable that cheesy effect at some point.

Also in the Galaxy map you get nothing, not even any audio notifications if i remember correctly and I spend a lot of time in the map when docked.
