Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

So with the recent release of the information on Powerplay, what are you excited to see and do? Fly the new ships? Greate a Power out of a small faction randomly? Shoot all the NPC's that kiss the Emperors boot?

I don't think that's part of it, or at least I didn't read that into what the newsletter announced.

Any smaller faction can become a Power, with a ton of work.

Players will even have a hand in creating new Powers. The initial selection of factions will rise to a maximum of twenty as players provide assistance to minor local forces; as those forces establish a foothold across a handful of systems, they may rise to become Powers in their own right.

99% of it won't affect me or what I do in game , I'm only a very casual player so I don't get immersed in these sorts of things. I will join in with stuff but I won't be racing to complete any objectives etc. etc... I have to go to work and then do family stuff, if I get a couple of hours on a night I'm a happy camper. That isn't enough time to do anything other than dip your toes in.

If I were to become a divorced multi-millionaire with plenty of time on my hands, then maybe it would be different ...

Sounds very interesting. I hope these features will also be solo/private group friendly.

I don't think it gives me much, but I do think it will make things interesting for the majority. I might have another go at mining. Previously I'd processed 1 ton of something that gave me 2,000 or so credits. That was enough to put me off it

Well I read the article and what I take from it is that Frontier is trying to force more PVP - dare to be daring. Fight, fight, fight, kill, kill, kill, reward, reward, reward, ... I don't understand why they think this makes a more credible galaxy rather than a galaxy mostly at peace where the Navy cracks down on criminals. Realistically a task force of 28 Navy ships should be able to interdict a wing of 4 pirates and then proceed to destroy them (maybe 24 Navy ships plus a combination of 8 pirates/victims). Of course they can't be everywhere at once, but when they show up they should be able to sweep a system clean.

I'm just waiting to hear that you have to play in open if you want to participate in power play. Otherwise it wouldn't be fair for the griefers.

I'll check out the diffrent addons exept joininga faction, because i'd like to know first the real consequenses of that.
Like will i be KOS by NPCs also ? Are NPCs also KOS (without penality) for me ? Is it possible to change my mind with a faction ?
So i guess i'll test mining and the other changes with probes first and will read about the faction-thing from other users
