Close to Zeta Horlogii there is another system suited for RES farming:

Gende

Around gas planet 1 there are two high res and one low res. The spaceport (15 ships and better high end equipment than zeta) is only over 1 ls away. High Tech.

It is not part of any force. Empire affiliated.

Hmm, so maybe High Intensity RES doesn't make any difference? If this is the case, then I may check out Iota Persei again.
How was system security inside the RES?

2 and 4 have high res, 2 has normal RES too. 4 does have an outpost nearby. 2 has nothing. 3 does have a spaceport.

Empire, not controlled by anybody.

If you have the time, would you mind telling me how many ls the RES are from the station? Doesn't have to be too accurate, just a general number. Added to OP, thanks!

Over time, I can see many good RES farms being taken over by a power. I'm sure most of us here are in a Power as well. Maybe I should organize the OP to Powers instead of Fed/Empire/Alliance/Independent/Anarchy?

Last night, it took me 9 attempts of flying in and out of super cruise to encounter a large wanted ship. I simply left right away if I did not see a large wanted ship nearby. After finding that good spawn, I stuck around for awhile. Sometimes RNG can be my friend, other times it won't be.

I couldn't find any large wanted ships after killing that 1 Dropship and I thought I had to go back and refresh. I looked above where I was and saw where all the ships were. About 12 km above the RES, a swarm of 5 Federal Security Service Anacondas; 2 of which were Elite. These things just were killing everything nearly instantly. I never encountered 5 Fed Anaconda's sticking together like that. Made earning credits way too easy; while seeing every wanted large ship get blown up by the Anacondas. Pretty funny.
If I was in a Sidewinder, I could have made credits nearly as easily.

Since many of us are allied with Powers that benefit Bounties, should I just start searching exclusively in Imperial space?
My goal will be to find an RES that is ~30 Mm or closer to station, all High Intensity. Starport must have excellent outfitting/shipyard. Haven't found one yet. Ross 467 is close to perfect, but sucks for outfitting and has a crap shipyard. I'll be looking around.

But is High Intensity important? I'm now not so sure.

In my limited experience post 1.3 I don't see much difference between the RES sites in what ships that can spawn. There might be a difference in what combat rank they have.

I don't remember specifics from last night since it was about 2am but from what I remember most where around master level, bounties ranging from about 80k to 150k (sometimes kws did nothing, other times the bounty could double)

Local enforcement during this stint was mostly eagles and vipers, I had about just over half a dozen of them traveling in one big group.

High intensity does make a difference. You have more pirates in wings (like a Clipper with 2 Couriers, or 3 Adders, a Python and 2 Vipers, etc), more simultaneous spawns, and more chances to have big ships. But then it can vary a lot. And it seems that now you have to give them some time. Two days ago I was in an instance that started slow, and after half an hour, it turned into a continuous stream of big high-ranked ships and the cops brought 5 Condas to make my job even easier.

I'm not saying it doesn't make a difference, but it wasn't a waste of my time.
In fact it was my most sucessful RES hunt post 1.3 :S

There was also a few wings, I noticed particularily a python with a dual clipper escort which I attempted to engage, killed one of the clippers and then decided to bugger off, repair and come back :S

i just wish normal RESs actually spawn bigger ships. I've been in a "Resource extraction site" for 40min now. Nothing bigger than a cobra. Tried resetting several times... nothing changed.

It's funny because I have days when only ships i get in a normal RES are clippers, pythons and dropships... and then days like this where i wait 15min for 2 sidewinders with 7k bounties on their heads... I just wish it was more consistent.

Been the same for me, but I'm getting a little bored with my t7 now.
Traveled back to my vulture now, and couldn't see anything bigger than a cobra.
I have had the same experience with high res, but they are after 1.3.04 (spawning more experienced ships so they are worth more)

There was a couple of pythons to get my hopes up, but they where all miners. That's just evil...

I think the whole RES mechanic is wrong and quite dumb, they could so easily move bounty hunting to missions.

I kind of agree, there need to be more larger ships in RES, especially in high intensity ones, not just more experienced eagles, vipers, and cobras in wings.

I'm now certain it's pretty much just dumb luck that's left with RES's.

Gave it another shot now, this time just went to the other res in Iota (same planet) and without even re-triggering I get a steady stream of larger ships.

I undocked at 1454, docked again at 1604 (so one hour and ten minutes).
This is what I was left with.

And that's just local bounties, got about a mil from previous sessions with alliance and emp to cash in as well.
