So with all the shenanigans re: Mobius vs open, I decided to start a discussion on the official forums about the idea of a pirate code and a group for those who endorse such a thing. Basically I want to see if I can get peoples feedback on what level of surprise pvp they are willing to accept, and if some kind of agreement on parameters can be established to avoid 'griefing and ganking'.

I think for me its where it makes sense, some idiot running around blowing everything smaller up is not a very realistic gameplay element. Also I like the option of avoiding it some nights though if I'm not in the mood. Why Elite works so well for me.

I actually pitched that idea in the "why are you playing solo" topic earlier. :D
Id love to see pirating allowed, provided they stick to the "pirate code".

I guess it would look like this;
- Give your target atleast 10 seconds to figure it out.
- If the victim claims he has no cargo, dont just open fire, scan to verify and if really empty let them go.
- If cooperating, state your cargospace, dont make them drop 100 if you can carry only 10.
- If cooperating, dont gank after they drop cargo, let them go.

A polite pirate is a fun pirate.

Hell, ive never pirated before, but if there was a group that would allow me to do it the way I stated above, id actually want to try it. ;)
