Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I had a curious realization last night, with Mobius essentially being free of PvP/etc it is basically Solo with the added bonus of maybe encountering other non-threatening players. So I wondered, why would a member of Mobius ever bother going back into Solo when the Private Group is basically the exact same thing with added benefits?

I personally can't find a reason I would.

I sometimes run the conflict zones in solo, because they can get a bit laggy with a bunch of players in at times. Plus I don't run them because they are the only places where one can pvp in Mobius, I run them in spite of that.

Ever since joining this private group have I happily played in it.

But, by the rules of our group,
- has a player an obligation to play solely in this private group?
No, they have not such an obligation.

I've only played solo recently during a community event when I didn't want to be competing against another member at a nav point (pre-wings) and when my Internet connection has crapped out and not wanted to support multiple players.

I play open as im the guy that runs the pand indepdant group so i like to do things with other players, that said there are times when i get fed up with the graphical lag that can occour after an hour of play, where it seems that open is net coded not optimised and i have no such problems in solo. That said solo is still much better performance wise than open and until the devs fix that its going to remain so

It's nice to have the option of playing alongside people and interacting, etc. but there are times when I don't want to have to deal with anyone other than an NPC. (It also means not having to worry about shooting the wrong person by accident.) I don't tend to hang around the populous areas so I've never noticed any performance difference between solo and private.

It seems the worst you would have to deal with is someone saying hello, whom you can ignore. But I do understand about not wanting to shoot a player on accident, as I recently almost did that.

I've never played solo since I joined this group. I doubt I ever will as long as I have in-game friends as it would seem like a slap in the face and saying get away from me, kid, you're bothering me. Without in-game friends, I don't expect there to be much of a difference - maybe better performance in a CZ.
