Being a combat pilot by trade I was talked into doing some actual trading. I got myself a python and crammed as many cargo modules as I could in it and slapped the best FSD money could buy. The trade route I was given takes me about 12 minutes to make a round trip netting me 733,000cr. This gives me a total of 3,665,000cr/h (I have no idea if this is good or not.) So being a combat pilot I got to wondering, can I make more in a RES or trading?

I would need someone(s) with a Vulture or FDL to enter a RES and blow stuff up for 1 hour to see what yields more. If multiple people want to do this we can average the numbers together, this would probably be better seeming how bounties can be more sporadic.

2hrs in my usual RES - about 3.2Mil in Bounties .

Then again if I could afford a Python I'd trade for a while also :)

The money available in a RES really depends on the instance. Lots of big ships means big money, Sideys and Eagles not so got but quicker to kill so you can do more in a certain time.

If no big ship then jump out and back in or move to a nearby RES.

I've never made 3.5 millions/hour in a RES. About 2 must be my very best.

It feels like moneymaking in RES is a coin toss. You either get a constant stream of clippers, pythons and anacondas to shoot... or endless stream of sidewinders and eagles. Guess which one is actually profitable? :P

2-4 Mcr/h is easily done when you have more expensive ships to shoot at.
