Since I have moved I will share a secret passed down to me by others.

Best place in empire space to get ships and upgrades: Sak Manka/Impey Vision & NLTT 8653/Seamans Landing. They have everything there to outfit and purchase except for the Courier. NLTT 8653 has a few RES sites, and there are plenty of Trade routes nearby that can generate a good deal of profit. The systems are about 10 ly apart.

Near Eotienses and close enough to Achenar/Baker Terminal where the Courier is 15% off.

You can A rate any ship in the game between the two systems.

The list is probably not fully comprehensive, but if you just want to find a ship you can check the list of known locations on the wiki. So far my experience has been that it's pretty reliable.

Cleve station in Fusang and Ray station in Diaguandri.

I believe any Hudson control systems will carry them, I think that's one of his perks for control systems.

With Trade Dangerous you can look up ships anywhere, as well as the shipyard that has them closest to you. *Shameless Plug*
