Best Multipurpose Ship?

Still flying around in my starter SW, with some minor upgrades to it. Been bounty hunting at a Nav Beacon last night and today and managed to amass about 400K, just wondering what the best option is for an all around ship. I was looking and thinking it might be Cobra but wasn't 100% sure. My activities lean towards badguy hunting and exploration with some minor trade thrown in if I am somewhere I can grab something and make a profit nearby...
Ideas?

I'm sure you will see a range of opinions and mine is just one of the many but speaking in terms of affordability and all around multi-purpose you can't beat a Cobra MK III. Sure the external wing hardpoints are a little annoying but then again just put something gimbled out there. I love my Cobra which I started out Rare Trade Running in and now its my main fighter/bounty hunter.

Honestly, the Asp is probably the best "do anything" ship I've used so far. Somewhat pricey to outfit though, my current loadout is somewhere around 40 million.

Yea, I am only bringing in like 100-150k every couple hours killing Wanted at the Nav Beacon so the high price stuff is probably out of my depth for now lol

At that stage of the game I think my progression was Sidewinder->Adder->Cobra->Asp.
Adder is an easy climb, Cobra was about 4-6 to decently outfit if I recall. Don't buy the Asp until you get to around 20 million with trade-in.
Start hitting RES sites as soon as you are able.

Cobra is a great ship that can handle a lot of different jobs. I'd say work towards that ship, might want to get a couple million in credit so you can upgrade her, or get it and work your way up.

Yea, I'm at 553K right now, gonna go back out once more and hopefully grab another 100K in Bounties then head back and grab a Cobra and start upgrading.

i'd pick the Cobra too. fast, versatile, maneuverable, and you can carry 36t of cargo without having to miss out anything important. it's also relatively cheap to upgrade to a medium level
the Adder's not a bad interim step, but its cockpit view sucks

Hot damn this ship can travel soooooo much farther than the SW lol... Just went 127LY to visit Vulcan and didn't have to refuel once!
