Discovered my first ELW - not too far away either

HIP 34252 B 2

Surprised that no-one has already claimed it, especially as the main star has already been scanned.

In the early days, before the Advanced Discovery Scanner had been invented, many explorers jumped in and scanned without extending their search. There were a number of threads on how to track outlying and unseen stars and planets - you had to search them out.

The ADS now picks up all the leftovers at the push of a button (thank goodness).

I had one where the main star and first gas giant was scanned.

Between the star and the gas giant there was two water world's and three metallic..

People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

I've had a few systems where only the first few planets were scanned. Welcome surprise for my space wallet, and having my name on a planet was the bigger perk.

I've also had suspicions that many of these "first discoverers" were electronic and at work before the galaxy had its current form.
