Then it was time to start thinking about returning home, have reached about 2kly distance in the trusty "Hunter ST" Hauler which is good enough for my first foray into the big black.

Moving away from the nebulae I started finding more undiscovered stars.

Decided to take an indirect route back to the bubble for the chance of more first time discoveries.

Holy crap, your screenshots are really well done! Love the framing that you do. Hope your story doesn't end with you getting boiled!

Almost did today, finally realised that you have to fly away from the star after scooping before firing up the FSD, the combined heat boost will race up to over 100 pretty rapidly, glad I have the field maintenance unit on-board!

Racking up those first discoveries now, plenty of metallic worlds but haven't found an Earth-like yet. I hope I get to claim all of these on return and someone else doesn't beat me to it. Has been pretty lonely out here, haven't seen a soul for months.

Resting place after a hard days exploration is the rather dull looking Kepler 48c, although the E:D developers seem to have got this one wrong as this system actually has at least 4 planets, there are only two in game.

Continuing to plod home now, it is slow going in the old Hauler that can only jump 25ly and has to scoop every fourth jump! Getting harder to find virgin systems now the closer I get to the bubble.

Here is Kepler 61b, a big blue gas giant.

And on to Kepler 50c, these planets were some of the first exoplanets discovered by the transit method, they're also called "Hot Jupiters" due to their mass and close proximity to the star.

I was quite anxious to get back now, offload this exploration data, repair the Hunter ST and go visit my Vulture so plot a course towards the bubble stopping off at Kepler 22c; a ringed Brown Dwarf!
