Gravy Train has derailed...

With FD removing the distance multiplier from the passenger missions they really have not addressed the actual problem Board Hopping it is boring and really should be axed Lol.

CONFESSION :( It was very hard to resist the 200m a run in my flying eggshell so I ended up board hopping despite not liking it, some times I would tell myself that I would only do 1 more cycle but I would do 2 or 3 more cycles instead and I hated that I did it.

IMO an incentive to use a smaller ship for the Run by changing the destination to a smaller port or restricting the number of passenger missions you can have active at once would have still let the credits flow and makes the smaller ships viable.

OR make a fully decked out larger ship a must as when running refugees and rebels to a base you need to get passed a blockade and a barrage of fire so between repair bills and shields and some fines etc.. (this would be so much fun)

Both of these options would have lowered pay organically and not make a 40 minute flight pay the same as a 2 minute one.

So what ways do you know how to make credits that do not rely on board hopping

Do Cargo missions have a simular distance multiplier?

Do Data Missions have a simular distance Multiplier?

What do you do to make Money?

I'll admit I used this cheat to earn "Galaxy CR", however I do believe in looking at this in a postive light.

-1: Player factions that were affected by this exploit, will no longer struggle to maintain control of their systems. Lets face it,
if you used the exploit then in a way you were "griefing" another player or poayers. Many pilots here joined this community to
escape "griefing" in open play, only to give "grief" to someone else.

-2 Changing or removing PAX exploit will force many to seek other means of earning that CR, Other avenues that may have been overlooked, such as trade looping or community goals. I found bounty hunting to be lucrative and fun without it be a strenuous task.

And just in case anyone missed this Elite Dangerous is not a quick game, its a dedicated game.
If your looking for that "quick game" this game may not be for you. (This a general reference , not targeting anyone)

I really like the idea of no wrong way of making money.

Fast high risk
Slow low risk

Should be the main variables not what route you choose to take.

It should be equally viable no matter what you
Assuming you use the perfect ship for any given job

200m an hour would be excessive

50m an hour would be perfect not to high not too low

1m an hour would be low and plenty of jobs seem to be here

I had an ephinony and thought maybe they could scale the cost of ships / modules with your bank balance.
So a ship would have a Base value but then every time you had double that amount in the bank the cost of it would increase by a diminishing/increasing return, depending on the formula.

I imagine this would be very unpopular but it would remove a lot of the need/incentive to even do gold rushes.

And yet 50m credits an hour seems so much like instant gratification.

Don't forget about the Road to Riches. It's a steady-Eddie kind of consistent money maker that you can jump into anytime and make some decent cash while exploring for as little as 20 minutes or 5-10 hours at a time.

When I think of the amount of time I've spent gaining rep at 'hot spots' and flipping the board until I'm ready to bang my head on the desk, compared to the simplicity of the Road to Riches..... well.... I'll just leave it at that.

Train of thought

If your terrible at combat, might I reccomend you to find some Cmdrs to team with who can BH with.

Not sure what platform you're on, I'm on PS4.
I also have about 19 Cmdrs that I have bounty hunted with at various times. One time there were 7 of us in one res zone, once system authority came in it became over crowded. Talk about having a wingman.
