Greetings all,
I have been playing Elite Dangerous for several years now and have proudly worked my way up to triple Elite. My crewman is also Elite. I really enjoy building, optimizing and engineering ships for combat, mining, passenger and trading missions. When I began, I enjoyed Rares trading to get ahead, but they don't pay enough now.
I have G5 access with most of the Engineers (we are on a first name basis ) Perhaps because I am a real-life engineer, but I like optimizing my ships to squeeze the last jump range, weapon performance, cooling, etc.
I have done a bit of deep space exploring, but it is not so exciting for me.
I have worked up enough credits to own a stable full of fullly-engineered A-rated ships: 2x Federal Corvettes, an Imperial Clipper, a Fer De Lance, a collection of task-optimized Pythons, and an assortment of other smaller ships. My favorite types are the Corvette, Python and Fer de Lance. I really wanted to like the Anaconda, but can't stand it now. For its place in the game, I think the Python stands out as a local-maximum and I still like to go to it.
Up until now, I have never done PVP since the rumors of ganker jerks and the cost of a buy-back has always been a deterrent. However, now I have enough credits to consider taking some of my smaller, fun ships, like my Fer De Lance, out for a spin. I recognize that PVP training will be good for me, but I really am not sure where to begin.
This group intrigued me since it seems to reflect my values - I never got into being a Pirate, tried to stay legal, I would never intentionally hurt a friendly, and have a boatload of experience with PVE with kickass ships. I am not sure where to begin though, as my experience is 99% solo.
