Hi everyone, am new to the group, so here is my introduction.

I grew up playing the original elite on amiga, and then frontier & frontier FE. I backed elite dangerous back when it was in kickstarter, and have been playing it on and off ever since. I am recently getting back into the game after a very long hiatus and want to have a more social & friendly experience going forward.

Despite being a founder, I am very far from rich and have yet to reach elite on either of the three categories, though I am currently working on getting my exploration rank up there.

My problems with PVP as it stands now in game are that:

1. To have a chance at competing you must fly in a PVP capable ship using a PVP capable build, which most of these builds are far removed from builds that do well at PVE. This means you have to commit to PVP and once you do the rest of the game is much harder to enjoy.

2. My experience with PVP players in general is that while there are rare exceptions, most of them are very immature, which is not the type of interaction that I am looking for.

3. PVP for a peer to peer network game really doesn't make sense to me. The possibilities of lag and cheating mean that even if you commit to pvp your odds of getting a fair fight are not really that great. This may have improved since I last played, and may also be mitigated by joining pvp groups but this is more of a commitment than I am currently looking for.
