Salutations from the small town of Huntingdon (near Cambridge) in England.

I first played Elite on a BBC Model B Micro in 1982 (had just dropped out of Uni and spent several happy months in the wire frame universe that was Elite of old). So it will come as no surprise to learn that I like to play almost exclusively solo - Elite always was, and for me, always will be a PvE game :)

I will not be interacting much with this site, so don't expect a great deal from me. But it is good to have a place where I can pick up on what's happening amongst those who are more social than myself. (yep - total leech, that's me!)

Cheers,

QR.

Before anyone jumps on it - I have to correct myself. One of my compatriots from those days has reminded me that it was in fact 1984 (I was 21) when I first played Elite. I originally got involved with Acorn in Cherry Hinton (nr Cambridge) in 1982 (I was just a hanger on - but they were heady days) and I used to hang out with the dev team working on the Electron (big flop that was). We used to have bits of BBC micro all over the show and I remember that the first Elite manual I had was a photocopy of an early draft (wish I still had it) - people were real programmers in those days, scrabbling to save a few bytes so that they could add a new feature to Elite :)

Anyhoo - just thought I'd correct myself.
