I played the original back in 84 and loved it...It was a massive time suck..."Load New Commander Y/N" was the screen I saw most of all at first, because it seems my ship took a liking to face planting the station when I tried to dock.....First purchase was a docking computer....Which seems to have been far more advanced than the currently available model......
Anyway with that I played the game to death...I remember reams of paper with stations and market prices written on them.....Remember fuel scooping......Thargoids .... Witchspace and the bloody Tribbles....I Made it to Deadly....Never did get to Elite.....Maybe this time....
So yep my hair is grey now......Found out Elite was coming back...Bought into Premium beta and loving it....
Started as all in a sidey.....Skipped eagle and viper......Gotta hauler......Spent a few short hours in a cobra....Then a Type 6......Got to just over a million and thought I'd learn combat.....Traded down to a Viper (Now Orange) and loving it...
Looking forward to Beta 2 and further expansions............
Joined this group because although I don't mind combat when needed, I hate being taken out for lulz.....Especially when the initial grind took me weeks...I can only play a few hours a day, if that......
I have spoken to a few people in game...(Once I had learned how to use TeamSpeak) and had a great time.....
So In short....Loving the game......Loving the group and loving this forum (Official one can get a bit testy at times)
