A New And Slightly Paranoid Pilot

HER: My name is Sheevara, a trader and soon-to-be explorer. The world I was born and raised on is unimportant - what IS important is my firm belief the Thargoid menace still exists - oh yes it's out there. My father died in a Thargoid attack barely a year before the polymer-targetting virus engineered by INRA won us the first war, I say 'first' because the second
will be coming and we need to be ready.
ME: I am a player of mature years (50 is a rapidly fading memory,) and living in Manchester, England.I lost my husband to Cancer three years ago. I now live inside my games as a way to allieviate the grief and depression. I played the earlier Elite games when they came out and now am enjoying this one, I have had it on my Steam pile since it was released but only now feeling in the mood for it. I like roleplay elements so much of my input might be 'HER' as opposed to 'ME'
P.S. It is Sheevara, not Seevara...I missed the aitch

Morgan, your introduction is one I read earlier and I am in full agreement with you about griefers, etc. It has kept me pretty much solo to this point as well.

There is no need for paranoia, everyone and their tabby cat wants something from you. It's just the way it is, shoot first, high wake later. Welcome to Elite. Oh and do watch out for space madness, I've heard some nasty things about it. Fly safe commander.

Welcome to the group! A healthy dose of paranoia helps keep you alive. If interdicted, submit and high-wake on out of there, if trading! I for one prefer combat on my terms. Remember to report any CMDRs that attack you immediately, and take screenshots of the encounter! ElitePVE is great, but trolling dbags exist.

Space Madness is real. I spent weeks buying my way into the good graces of the Empire and Federation. After thousands of missions, you're certifiably space-mad.

I would do, not that the occasional unprovoked attack would bother me, it keeps you alert for one thing, but relentless and pointless killings for no reason at all is rather daft. For instance, on one of the few occasions I went into open play I was attacked the moment entered a belt, obviously I had no cargo as I'd just arrived. My starter-weapons had no chance against highly superior weaponry. (I had a pair of laser weapons and a pair of mining lasers.) So just had my ship killed for no reason.
That set my meagre credit balance back quite a lot for someone who'd played for barely four hours. So 'frustrating' is the word. I don't mind anybody declaring their intentions against me so long as it's with reason and is consenting, nothing wrong with a bit of cat-and-mouse so long as it's gameplay and not because you're getting bored.
