Hi everyone. Nice site and community. I've picked up a lot of great info here over the last week or so.

I bought the game back in the winter. Saw and did a lot of nothing after a few hours of messing around with it, so I shelved until I had more time to dedicate to the game. Started playing it last Sunday. Completed the training missions and then went to work.

Although this game certainly isn't for everyone, I love the sandbox nature. So far I've gotten about 500K in profits while doing supply runs, bounty hunting, and dipping my toes (very lightly) into the commodity market. Currently flying in the free Sidewinder and a few upgrades with hopes of saving up to buy a decently equipped Viper soon.

I can't believe how deep this game is in terms of economy and ship options/tweaks. There's A LOT to learn. Right now I'm focusing on bounty hunting, but it's great to know there are so many other things to do if/when that gets old.

I really like the PVE and solo options. I'm pretty laid back in my approach to games. I don't have to be the best...I just enjoy playing for the experience and fun. Given the nature of this game, nothing would wreck that fun more than running into some jerk who gets his fun ganking new players in a Sidewinder or lower level transport. Launch/navigate/get killed/lose my ship/repeat over and over. No thanks. The internet can be a mean, dark place, so it's good to know there's a place where I can hang out, enjoy the game, and hopefully run into some people with the same approach as mine.

I'm currently hanging around the Kremainn/LHS 3447 area and plan to stay there till I become a little more competent. Once I can get my pilot rating to something better than "Mostly Harmless" I'll venture beyond this little corner of the Milky Way. I'm in US Central time, so hopefully I can run into some of you fine folks at some point.

Welcome to Mobius, commander Gabo! :)

Feel free to add your name to the In game friend list thread and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders. Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimate to the game while having fun.

I couldn't agree more! There is **SO** much depth to the game, it's amazing! I've been playing since January, and still learn things all the time. It's awesome to be able to bounty hunt, trade, explore, do BB missions, or ... whatever.... whenever you want to! :D

BTW, I'm in the western US. Hope to see you in-game soon!

Thanks everyone.

Appreciate the links JohnLuke. I've died in some very interesting ways, so those threads and guides help a lot.
