Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Hi all,

I'm Flip here and on Frontier's forums (which is short for Philippe, really) and Cmdr Flip Martin in game.

I'm old enough to have played Elite in the 80's but I didn't because I was on the road most of the time, working in showbiz. Now that I make a living in IT it's easier to get involved in gaming, so I am.

I've been in sim racing with a UK-based team for a while (LFS, rFactor, Assetto Corsa, etc.), but I'm also a huge fan of sci-fi and I've spent hours playing a couple of games similar to ED in the past (Spaceward Ho! long ago and X3: Terran Conflict more recently). So when I found Elite Dangerous a month or so ago, it looked like a dream come true. I bought the beta, got a X-55 a few days later, and here I am. I just wish I learned about ED earlier.

I'm not a big fan of PVP, though, so I'm very grateful to Mobius for this group!

have you played the latest Grid autosport? better than Grid 2 which wasn't really thought through

Happy to have you on board Flip. Another IT nerd, I'm in good company.

Looking forward to upgrading my flight stick to maybe a x-55 or a 52, currently making it work with a Logitech Attack 3 ( NOT the 3d, this one doesn't even have the twist rudder XD )

No, never played the Grid series, TBH. I'm usually more oriented towards the "hardcore/realistic" kind of sims, but we sometimes have loads of fun in Dirt, which is pretty arcady too, so I'm sure there's good fun to have in Grid.

Just met you at Eranin, but had some trouble sending a message to you and arriving at Azeban City at the same time
Haven't discovered yet how to send (private) messages in-game yet

No problem, and thank you.

To send a message, just target the recipient, then press Return. It will open the text input box. Type your message in there, then Return to submit it.

Or, after targeting, press 1, or 2 on your keyboard. Should bring up text menu as well.
