Hi everybody,
my forum name is my Cmdr name also, but my real name is Alan

I am a 49 (soon to be 50) yr young postman from Bristol uk.

Like most have said here, I prefer PvE, because it represents more of a roleplaying existence for me. Sure there will still be fighting and the danger will always be real, but it allows for a much greater level of immersion, than getting blasted every 20 minutes by players who may be only flying around playing like its some kind of online shooter. And thats completely fine for them, but we can thank our stars for groups like ours here.

Hi Alan, and welcome. Did you ever play any of the old Elite games?

Hi, thanks for the welcome. Yes, I first got Elite on my trusty C64, then again on my Atari St, and once more on the Amiga. I also bought Frontier for the Amiga and loved it just as much. I never experienced Fist encounters though

My pleasure :). And FE2 on my old Amiga 1200 was my first introduction to the series. Much like you, I never tried First Encounters (I think mainly because I was unaware it existed) but I am certainly enjoying Dangerous thus far :)

Welcome aboard Cmdr name also. Quite a name you got there! :)

A lot of grown up young people in this lovely group I think. Very nice. The young ones are welcome too of course. As long as they keep the noise down... ;)

He's a hard man though. Not many people can have their head taken off by a train and still talk

Aaannnddd the neighbourhood has gone to hell in a handcart! I've arrived, I know you've all been waiting for me ;)

I am the king of originality and my user name is my real name. 39 years old (allegedly an adult), living in Stirling, rainy Scotland, working as a Maintenance Manager. Married with 2 kids who think I'm great, someone has to I suppose :P .

First played Elite back in the 1980's on the Acorn Electron and then Atari ST and Amiga versions of Frontier. Loving ED most of the time and looking forward to helping out my fellow commanders.

Oh and so many smilies, with these smilies you are really spoiling us,,,, :D
