Or a headtracker? I can vouch for EDTracker:

That's more or less what the Tobii is. Head and eye tracking. Main difference being I don't have to wear a baseball cap.

Obsidian Ant has done a couple of reviews and gotten me curious. Although it'll probably be a couple of weeks before it's in my budget.

I had a tobii before and it does work great, takes a bit of getting used to and works rather differently than an actual headtracker.
You would need to have an off switch easily availble for when you need to look anywhere you don't want to record, if I was for example reading a website on my second monitor the headtracking would of course track my gaze as far as it could and start gliching out.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

I agree with Tor there that recording in VR is a bitch.......

2D and a head tracker is far better.......

For one you can pause head tracking......VR you can't......So my head is always moving whilst I look at things to get them in focus.....

Just does not make for great viewing.......

I used to use Track-IR which is great but expensive.......

If I ever really go back to recording vids it will be using that and in 2d.............

I just stumbled on to this fan fiction right here on this site. Production value is outrageous. Some of the best video storytelling I have ever seen:

Learn from the masters, eh? :)

As it turns out the Tobii 4C is amazing. Requires you to be close enough to your monitor that I had to rearrange my office, but very pleased with the results..
