In the Asp, I did get up and look out the window for you...

Wow. It looks outrageously awesome.. For some reason, I can only access parts of some of your videos.. But no matter.

Do you have the space where you're playing to actually walk away from your seat and around the bridge, of say the Cutter?

It really looks jaw droppingly fun. You must really feel like your there.

Can't wait to hear how your hardware copes with Horizons/SRV...

I hope you'll be making a full review sometime in the future? Installation, ease of use, pros and cons and what not?

Thanks again for sharing D. I plan on being second mover myself, waiting for the different verdicts on models and hardware recommendations for E: D especially. Early reports say that Horizons is a nut buster for most of todays hardware.

The Horizons / SRV and a planetary landing was great. Performance wise, it seemed fine, but I could hear the laptop cooling fans ramp up a notch

The latest SteamVR update to fix the camera stopped mine from working

Did you say laptop? What kind of laptop can run the Vive like that? Is it a gtx980m you're running it off?

No, not the M version. NVidia GeForce GTX 980 8Gb, the full fat laptop version

When FD tweak the shimmering and text readability issues, it will be great.
ED is the worst looking VR game I have seen so far.

It is a little frustrating not being able to show what you actually see.
Looking at the videos you might get the impression that it is that sharp in VR.
It is not, even if the ED issues were fixed.

Resolution would be worse than many flat screens, and sometimes you can see the fresnel rings. Mileage will vary from person to person, but I dont notice it now.

But the overall feeling still has not worn off after a week.

If you can try before you buy, I would recommend it. No surprises then.
More places should be able to have demonstrators available as the initial release surge subsides.

Indeed.

Denmark is such a small country, that I haven't been able to find any showings of either hardware (Oc or Vi).

Immersion means more to me than pixel count, although as you say, it has to be a steady and glitch free experience.

My plan is to buy a new desktop when Pascal is released (some say June?), and then hopefully get my hands on a suitable VR come christmas. But I will definitely try before I splash. :)
