Annoying GFX-bug

Postby Boozeman » Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:16 pm

Hi,

I got some "fireflies" on Diamondback Explorer canopy when exploring the Pleiades Nebula. This occurs only the Maia system

That looks a bigger version of Horace, the dot that has visited me many times exploring. As far as I can tell Horace was a graphical glitch that they couldn't get to the bottom of, it appears what they did in 1.3 has made it worse.

i got that while in my DB-Ex too, but unfortunately i only got a single one of them. i'm wondering if i could download another as a DLC. i figure if it had a friend it would stay around longer. i did a search in FD's store for 'fireflies' but was unable to locate them. maybe they're saving them up for 1.4?

** on a serious note, i noticed that it appears in front of the hud reticle but disappears behind planets (i was about roughly 10Ls from a ringed gas giant when it appeared) - this really screws with your perception of depth, seeing as the reticle is meant to be on the glass right in front of your face

Now I can confirm this. In my case this gfx-artefact occurs only the systems with black hole. Now 3 of 3.

Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

Does the gravity from a white dwarf bend the star backdrop in the same way that a black hole does (the "lensing" effect)?

Not that I have visibly noticed no.
