Thrusters are dead and so am I ....Or am I?

I recently got jumped by a pirate. It was an epic struggle of two Masters of their art. However I emerged triumph!
Sadly however he had taken out my thrusters and I was left spinning in space. I thought well this is it.. But wait! Whats this????

Functions:

Reboot/Restart ?


This is found all the way down the bottom of Functions on your systems menu.
It completely shuts ALL your systems down and trys to reboot them. Life support included (hope you upgraded your life support?)

Anyways my ship restarted with 2% thrusters, enough to limp my way to the nearest base

The reboot\repair is slightly less mysterious than that.

It looks for modules with 0% health, and then cannibalizes other modules slightly to get them up to 1-2% so you can limp to a station.

Doesn't work with power plant or cockpit integrity, the latter can be repaired in flight using an AFMU.

Careful when doing it under fire. It will cannibalize some of your hull. So you can die by it.

Tried this once in my very first poorly outfitted python and accidentally hit self destruct instead...

Used the Restart just a few days ago for the first time. An NPC attacked me in my defenceless Tradaconda while I was taking a look at a capital ship. Before the security got him, he had my thrusters down.
Found the restart function and activated it. Frightening... for a moment, I wasn´t shure if the ship would actually restart after everything went dead.
Kind of reminds me of the first Jurassic Park movie. In the basement of the whole compex they try to restart the whole electricity to get the fences up again. You have to pump the lever several times before you can close the circuit and restart the system...
