Away for a while and coming back could really use a 2.1 build guide for the FDL in regards to combat.

I added Chaff and a Point Defence, dropped the bi-weave and put on full shields, if you want to use Shield Cell Banks you need heat sinks (the FDL runs a lot hotter with 2.1).

2 x beams (or pulse if you are still too hot), 2 multis, and a huge pulse.

PIP management is a must and expect to use FA-Off a lot more.

Sure you can. You just need to pop a heatsink so you don't blow up ;)

I switched to 4 pulses and a huge multicannon, should probably think about a point defense. I really need to brush up on my FA-off skills.

I've always carried 1, if not 2, point defenses.

I also adopted the boost + FA off + turn around + roll technique, gliding backwards as I shoot at the baddie and he fires at me. It's totally stupid, but it keeps me from dying in under 10 seconds.

But still doesn't help if my Python is loaded up with cargo and mining kit. I die much faster, as Class 5A and even 6A shields, plus 1 Shield Booster 0A, is just not enough.
