System Defenders around Outposts

So, first noob question right of the bat. :)

I love anything related to planetary landings and outpost infiltration and stuff.
However, now with 2.1 most outposts are accompanied by some police ships.
I found that logging out and back in re-spawns them with a chance of not, but that seems a bit liek cheating.

So, what is the best way to deal with these ships? Straight out killing them is bad as that gives me a murder bounty. :/

Only thing I can think of is you get three buddies in combat ships. Willing to get multiple murder bounties while you complete your mission for absolutely no pay...

Talk about over correction...

I decided on landing and charging in with the SRV. Raced in, shot the reactor I had to destroy and ran away. Was quite the escape being chased by an eagle. Kinda fun, though.

I raced into one which I knew the layout to, the generator was off to the side between 3 ship-killing turrets. As I reached the generator and opened fire there world suddenly turned into lasers, death and rockets. Not sure if it was me that scored the killing blow, but I got credited with the mission completing. Only cost me an SRV.

They operate in a patrol pattern if you observe them long enough. They launch, do their patrol, land (or move off) and in a few minutes, start again. Observe them and you will see the timing. Clock in the HUD became useful for a few other things besides time :P
